Windmiller: A Modern Farmhouse Escape

Updated: Feb 25, 2020

I will always be so in love with this project! This home was completed through Ruby and Company and Windmiller Homes where I was the designer on the project. This home features a grand entrance with beautiful greenery, casement, and sculptures. I had so much fun using my creativity to make this home a work of modern art!

Light and bright! This office features a light wood desk which coordinates with the flooring and is contrasted with the darker cowhide rug. This cowhide is absolutely stunning, with gold spatter accents and beautiful dimension with its ombre effect. Leather seating compliments our style and modern accessories bring a sense of simplicity to the space. Drawing from our color palette we decided to elevate this accent wall with a beautiful piece of artwork.

The client wanted to use a black and white color palette in this space. Beautiful white seating gives the space a clean look, while black accents with simple lines gave the modern touch I was looking for. A beautiful flat weave rug, with a raised pattern, tufted chairs, nail head accents, and boucle ottomans give the space beautiful, yet subtle texture. Table lamps with a geometric glass pattern coordinate with the geometric artwork above the fireplace. The artwork is a silk screen over antiqued mirror and it presents beautifully. Added lanterns to the hearth give height. Of course we had to use artwork under the art lights and styled shelving is a must in any home!

This kitchen and dinette! We pulled the whites from the living room through the dinette with the white and gray toned hide-on-hair rug and light host chairs. Black side chairs with spindle backs coordinate so well with our farmhouse vibe and a simply set table works perfectly in this space. Dark wicker counter stools coordinate with our kitchen table and give an outdoor-feel. The texture of the stools is just so beautiful! Light accessories in the kitchen leave space for daily activities and give the space a finished look.

This master is a quite oasis with darker tones that create a moody and cozy feeling. Dark distressed table lamps pull the wall color into the accessories. Taupe wood tones are accented with marble tops. This velvet bed is a gray-cloud dream. The tufted headboard is accented with nail head details. Lastly, charcoal bedding with creamy accents mirror the wall colors.
